09 Cruise Part 3
This is stuff from the evening after the Grand Cayman dives and the Jamaica dives the next day and some random shots during the rest of the cruise. I’ll just show the videos and do a gallery of the photos again since people keep asking to see photos and I’ll never get it done otherwise.
Start of my first Ocho Rios dive. Nothing special.
Some cool plantlife waving in the surge. I wanted to get a longer video of this but the current was pulling me past it.
Some coral. There’s a picture of the white piece at the bottom later on.
Following the dive master on the second dive. There were some cool canyons that were a tight fit made tough with some surge. Luckily this is nothing compared to the surge and tight coral passages I’ve done in California. Experience is way better for keeping yourself safe than relying on a crappy dive master.
Swimming along, du du du du….
More swimming….
And saved the best for last. The dive master spearing some fish for his dinner. You can really hear it underwater when that thing fires. You can also see my dive master dragging his second stage along the coral which is bad for both the coral and the regulator.
I love the thunk you hear and you can really see the fish struck well in this one. Done correctly, spearfishing is actually one of the least harmful types of fishing in terms of environmental impact.
Aaand another huge gallery….you’ll see a lot of food pictures. These are because my sister-in-law’s camera took a dip in the water at the turtle farm by her husband. She was on the cruise for the food and had been taking pictures of everything we ate so I took over the duties with my camera 🙂
